Why I Don’t Blog Anymore
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. For more frequent updates, follow me on Twitter. Thanks for visiting!
A few folks have been asking me why I haven’t updated Gonzo SEO in a while. The answer is quite simple, really. This blog doesn’t make me any money. I recently discussed my thoughts about not blogging anymore with Karl Ribas and Rae Hoffman. Ultimately those discussions (as well as a few great posts), have led me to the conclusion that I’m wasting time (a.k.a. money) by blogging about things that are discussed over and over again on thousands of blogs. Anything super original that I would want to blog about, I keep to myself.
Instead of trying to lead the SEO industry back to the great community it once was, I’ve decided to quit bogging myself down with the drama and pretty much stay out of the conversation period. I should be using my “talents” to do something that makes me money.
I’m sure I’ll post things in the future based on what I’ve learned from the new sites I start up, but I’m not going to feel the obligation and give in to the time commitment it takes to run a great blog. I highly recommend that my subscribers look at the Gonzo SEO’s that I endorse on my blogroll. They offer great tips and advice.
I’m a very active twitter user if you miss me!

Blogging regularly is tough, especially when you have plenty of other things going on (and don’t we all?)

Hi Pratt, ypu told me you don’t know italian so I would try to put in english the meaning of my post: you told everybody you won’t blog anymore cuz it makes you waste time and can’t gain any money from it. My aim was ironically to say something about blogging in general, as the new way people use to cummunicate, something like “ok, now what about your lovely trolls? how could you live without the possibility to write down your thougts/experiences and share them with other crazy people like you?”.
My last sentence sounds like “Ok, il tuo è (era) un blog sul SEO, quindi più serioso, ma ci perdi a non bloggare più. Punto–>”ok your blog is (was) a SEO blog, though serious, but you loose something if you won’t blog anylonger. That’s it.”
Thanks, for your interest in my post.

Ah, that makes perfect sense. Thanks for taking the time to translate for me. I’m on my honeymoon now and have been pondering whether or not it was the right move. Maybe I was just getting burned out and needed (and still need) a break from it all.
You are right, though, I am definitely losing something by not blogging any longer.
